Staci Frenes is a singer/songwriter, author, and gifted storyteller who lives out her faith in creative ways that inspire and connect. A UC-Berkeley graduate, mom, and former English teacher, Staci has built a career blending her love of words and music into something deeply personal and universally resonant. With ten albums of original music, multiple film and television placements, and countless performances at conferences, retreats, and intimate venues, she has a gift for crafting songs and stories that speak to both the heart and the soul.

Her journey as a writer and speaker expands on this creative foundation. In her first book, Flourish, Staci explores how our unique gifts can find meaningful expression, while her latest work, Love Makes Room, is a memoir of her evolving understanding of faith, love, and family as she embraces her daughter’s LGBTQ+ identity within her Christian beliefs.

Whether she’s performing music, speaking, or writing books, Staci’s work is characterized by authenticity, hope, and a profound ability to communicate faith in ways that are both relatable and inspiring. She believes that life’s challenges and joys alike are opportunities for beauty, growth, and grace to emerge.

Staci and her husband Abe make their home in the San Francisco Bay Area, where they are never far from the ocean, Peet’s Coffee, and their two adult children, Abby and Zach.

“Love makes room”

When Staci Frenes learned her teenage daughter was gay, she found her dreams for the future—along with her lifelong faith—collapsing around her. Coming to terms with a new reality was a challenge, and an invitation, to make room for many things along the way: the inevitability of uncertainty, hope in the midst of loss, awkward and tough conversations, an expanding faith, and a greater understanding of how people are more the same than different.

In Love Makes Room, Frenes helps readers see that a reimagined future may look different than our old hoped-for pictures of ourselves and our families, but it can also be wider, deeper, and more fulfilling than we ever dreamed.
